Glass and mirrors Hold the scraper almost flat against the glass — as low an angle as possible. Work from one edge of the residue inward. The adhesive lifts cleanly in strips. Finish with a glass cleaner.

Plastic Use the same low-angle technique. Plastic scratches more easily than glass so keep the scraper flat. Work slowly and let the edge do the work rather than applying pressure.

Wood Scrape gently with the grain. Follow up with a small amount of cooking oil on a cloth to dissolve any remaining adhesive, then wipe clean.

Metal and stainless steel Flat angle, short strokes. Stainless steel shows scratches easily so take your time. The scraper won't scratch it — metal tools will.

What not to do

Don't use your fingernails — you'll either not shift the residue or you'll break a nail trying. Don't use a razor blade on plastic or coated surfaces. Don't use acetone or harsh solvents on painted or coated surfaces — they strip the finish.
